Senator Bradford issues statement on the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee

Senator Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) issued the following statement on the passing of Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee:
"It is with profound sadness that I acknowledge the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
"A tireless advocate, she was an unapologetic warrior for civil rights, police reform, and women's rights. Her legacy includes her pivotal role in establishing Juneteenth as a national holiday and her unwavering fight for reparations.
"Over the last 20 years, it has been an honor to know her, share a birthday, and engage with her remarkable spirit and dedication. Her absence will be deeply felt by the state of Texas, the nation, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
"Thank you, Congresswoman Jackson Lee, for over 40 years of dedicated public service. Rest in peace."
