Greetings from Senator Bradford
17th Annual Gardena Jazz Festival at Rowley Park
Dear Friends,
I hope you enjoyed your summer. As the first year of the biennial session comes to a close, in total, I was able to successfully pass 12 bills through the Legislature and secure over $43 million dollars of funding for important programs in our state's budget. Senate session officially ended near 3:00 a.m. this year. I had the privilege of presiding over the final, and eventful, night. This year, I introduced measures on a wide range of topics, including: governing board and supplier diversity, social equity, access to higher education, fair employment and housing enforcement, and much more. To view a full list of my bills for 2019, please visit my website (https://sd35.senate.ca.gov/) and you can always reach out to my District or Capitol offices.
I am honored to continue to serve and represent you in Sacramento and throughout the District. In this issue, I have included a few of the community events I attended over the past few months.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact my staff if you need assistance with government agencies, have ideas about future legislation, or want more information on community or capitol events.
Best wishes,
Steven Bradford
Senator, District 35

17th Annual Gardena Jazz Festival
I was a proud Gardena City Council member when I started our city's very own Jazz Festival. Many cities were cutting back on key programs, and the festival was our way to show support and give thanks to a community that has endured tough economic times. Nearly twenty years later, it has not only been a sustained community event, but it has flourished as one of the region's top jazz festivals.
