Historic Bruce's Beach Bill Signing in Manhattan Beach, CA
Dear Friends,
I am honored to be your representative in Sacramento. It has been a month since the Legislature entered its interim recess and every day I am busy spending time in our communities gaining insights into the important issues that we will tackle next year.
Despite the restrictions brought on by COVID-19, we had a very successful first year of the two-year legislative session, in which seven key bills were chaptered into law. Among them are measures such as SB 2, establishing the first system for decertifying bad police officers in California and SB 796, authorizing the return of the beach property stolen from Charles and Willa Bruce over a century ago. Other chaptered bills expand diversity in the insurance market, correct unjust criminal sentencing procedures, and allowing college athletes to benefit from their name, image and likeness. You can learn more about these bills in this issue of the Bradford Bulletin, or visit my website.
As always, if you have questions about any legislation or if you need assistance with state programs please do not hesitate to call my Capitol Office (916) 651-4035 or District Office (310) 412-6120.
Sincerely,
Senator Steven Bradford
Senate District 35
