California State Senator Laura Richardson Urges the Administration to Immediately Cease Interference of Local California Public Safety Enforcement

SACRAMENTO, California – (June 10, 2025) – California State Senator and Senate Majority Whip, Laura Richardson, is calling on the Administration to cease interference of local California safety enforcement authorities.
“Protests have a long 60 year plus history of instigating meaningful change in California and the nation as a whole, that might not have otherwise occurred. I call on the Administration to immediately cease interference in the California Public Safety Enforcement Process unless solicited by the Governor, the Legislature, or the Mayor of Los Angeles.
For more than 90 days, the Administration has authorized federal agencies to approach men, women, and children in an unidentifiable manner, with no legal warrants, or regard to their current or in process of citizenship. The more recent escalation of military force minus legal due process has caused community alarm and the call for protest which is legally defined as a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something.
To be clear, I vehemently oppose agitators who are committing illegal acts of harm to the public, law enforcement and property; while Californians exert their legal rights to calmly and peaceful protests the probable illegal implementation of immigration laws.”
