Celebrating Thanksgiving

Friends,

As we gather with family and friends to celebrate our blessings let us also remember those struggling in our communities.

Earlier this year, I spearheaded a budget request to fund the CalFresh Fruits and Vegetable EBT program. The result was $36 million earmarked for recipients of the program to receive an additional $60 per month in benefits – this is on top of their regular monthly EBT benefits.

This means that families, the elderly, and children will have expanded choices and greater access to healthier food options.

The holidays are a time when we all can come together to support loved ones and neighbors.
