Vincent Thomas Bridge Closure

Beginning November 7, 2026, the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro will be closed by Caltrans for a major renovation project.

The bridge closure is expected to impact traffic throughout the surrounding area, including neighboring surface streets, during 2028. The bridge is anticipated to fully reopen in early 2029.

This closure is part of a $752.8 million bridge deck replacement project designed to improve long-term traffic flow and support increasing transportation demands, including port-related traffic.

Commuters who regularly use the bridge or nearby surface streets should expect detours and alternative traffic routes beginning November 7, 2026.
