Senator Bradford Secures $2 Million for Gardena Boulevard Revitalization

September 09, 2022

SACRAMENTO – Senator Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) successfully secured $2 million of funding in California’s 2022-2023 budget for the City of Gardena.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Senator Steven Bradford. “California’s millions of small businesses are critical to the state’s recovering economy. In fact, those with fewer than one hundred employees comprise almost all of businesses in California and are responsible for employing more than a third of all in-state workers. It is critical that the state continue to provide support and expand the creation of small businesses in the city of Gardena.”

The funds included in this year’s budget will be focused on the revitalization of Gardena Boulevard by incubating more local, small businesses and providing support during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be utilized through grants to local businesses along Gardena Boulevard for façade improvements, capital upgrades, and to offset start-up costs.
